Houghwood Golf

A Better Place to Play

Houghwood Golf is renowned for its large receptive greens and undulating fairways, providing a fantastic test of golf. Constructed in 1995 the tree-lined golf club in St Helens overlooks the beautiful Lancashire plains and Welsh hills. Here at Houghwood we welcome visitors, societies and corporate events to enjoy the course and views that our members are lucky enough to experience every day.

As well as our 18 hole championship course, the following practice facilities are available to members, guests and visitors alike.

Putting Green

At Houghwood Golf we upkeep a state of the art large putting green, perfect to practice your short game. With six holes there is plenty of space to practice your putting before your round, on a green that is treated as though it was on the course.

Practice Net

The brand-new practice net gives players the opportunity to warm up by hitting a few balls before taking on the hills of Houghwood. Situated next to the putting green, all your pre-round preparation can be done all in one place!

Chipping Green

The chipping area at Houghwood provides a rather small target from its undulating surroundings and varying shots can be played from different lies from all angles. A pot bunker sits between the putting and chipping greens, so you can practice that all-important bunker play before taking on the 18 hole course.

Driving Range

The driving range at Houghwood Golf looks rather like any other fairway and is situated between the 1st and 3rd holes. With some bays at the bottom of the range, it gives players an excellent opportunity for pre-round practice on a realistic surface!
